Medicare Advantage Plans is a U.S-based health insurance program under Part C of Medicare. The program provides managed health care based on monthly capitated fee. It serves as an alternative to the Original Medicare Parts A and B. Both Parts A and B cover similar medical services and requires a beneficiary to pay an extra fee for services (FFS). However, before beneficiaries can enroll in Part C Medicare, they must first sign up for Parts A and B.
Medicare Part A pays for skilled nursing services and in-patient hospital. Conversely, Medicare Part B covers for surgeons and physicians services and skilled nursing facilities. Also, medically necessary outpatient services such as X-rays, ER, laboratory, and preventive medical facilities falls under Medicare Part B.
If you are eligible for Medicare, you can automatically enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan sponsored by your union or employer. As such, you can stick to the current Medicare plan on rocketreach.co, switch to Original Medicare or enroll in a different program. However, be aware that your union or employer may terminate or reduce your health benefit as a result of switching to the Original Medicare or enrolling in a different program.
