The cosmetics industry is one of the most fascinating, popular, and profitable industries in the world and it has been for quite some time. Companies/brands have come and went, but many of the top contenders such as L’Oréal, Maybelline, and Cover Girls are still around. There’s a newcomer on the scene who’s been stirring up the industry with it’s unconventional style and that brand is known as Lime Crime. This eclectic brand has only been around since 2008, but it has grown into a cosmetic giant over that past few years. Founder Doe Deere is the woman of the hour and Lime Crime is the brand to beat and this is why.

This Russian native actually grew up in New York City after moving here as a teen. Doe always seem to be a bit different when it came to style and fashion. Bright make-up and vividly bold colors was her calling card, but who knew it would turn into a “cult favorite” years later. Doe first started a small business on Ebay around 2004 where she modeled and manufactured her very own products. Since the market was already flooded with other similar brands, Doe decided to rethink her business preposition as she found an untapped niche. No other brands were using eclectic colorful hues at the time and this is when Lime Crime came into fruition. Her small independent company was birthed in 2008 and from there on, it has created quite the commotion. It’s “Velvetine Collection” is a line of luxurious liquid matte finish lip sticks. These lip stick’s popularity soared immediately and Lime Crime became a major player in the industry. Lime Crime also stood out thanks to being animal cruelty-free, paraben-free, as well as being certified vegan.

Doe Deere developed this product line as a reflection of her very own style. Lime Crime comes with a wide array of colors such as utopia, pink, salem, riot, raven, cement, jinx, fetish, cashmere, and many more. This every color of the rainbow and then some. As of today, Doe Deere and Lime Crime are leading the way in modern day cosmetology.
