Randy Hildebrandt’s story is inspiring to anyone who has thought about giving up on finding the perfect career. Despite having to deal with injury and setbacks, Randy was determined to pick himself up and keep trying.
Before he ever considered taking a leadership role with one of the best companies in the country, Randy wanted to play sports. He grew up in the big state of Texas and looked up to Nolan Ryan, a talented baseball player. After spending some time playing baseball, Randy sustained an injury to his shoulder and unfortunately had to give up the sport. With a degree in business and economics from A&M University, Randy initially wanted to make those his career but realized he didn’t actually like his field of expertise. He posted his resume on job search engines and waited to hear from someone.
Randy receive a call from a employment recruiter inviting him to sell insurance. He trekked an average of 200 miles every week for meetings and took on a mentor to show him the ropes. He learned the best methods for selling insurance and how to communicate with people in business. These were the attributes of someone determined to succeed and it eventually led him to meet with Troy McQuagge.
