Dubai Autism Awareness Month begins on April second, for all the well-wishers who want to be part of it, for only Dh50 per head, you and your friends could be a part of it. The fun-filled Autism Rocks Festival will be graced by American rappers Tyga and Flo Rida. Live performance, dancing and several competitions will all be available. Donations for such special needs people will also be welcomed.
Autism Rocks festivals aim at changing how people deal and perceive those individuals with autism. From Usha’s interview with Xpress, she says that the need to make a difference came as a result of personal commitment. They are blessed with a son who has autism and they wanted to influence the lives of those with the same condition.
While there is widespread support for all special need people, they felt that greater exposer should be given to such children. More research should be implemented to those affected so that solutions can be acquired. The idea of Autism Rocks was to invoke change from the respective authorities.
Being a charity and live concert, Autism Rocks was started in 2014 and has so far raised in excess of six hundred thousand euros. The concert has been privileged to host several high profile musicians like Prince, Drake, Michael Bublè and Lenny Kravitz in both London and Dubai. This year, they wanted musicians who had a greater appeal on youths so as to spread the message hence went for Tyga and Flo Rida. The official DJs for the concert were BFG and Fever.
The event was held in partnership with one hundred and seventeen live which is a subsidiary of Al Ahli Holding. Family events at the concert included crazy golf, bouncy castle, rodeo bull, inflatable rides, petting zoo, laser tag and horse rides.
